2006/02/14 and it FLOWS again...Seems like life just plods along without much going on out of the ordinary. 'Ordinary' are my favorite kind of photos, but sometimes circumstances, ordinary ones, just don't seem to find me running around with my camera. Takes a special night out...or Lukas playing basketball, Brian visiting, to get me to undock my trusty Fuji camera. And so here you are, three new albums...enjoy each one!!! Just as we enjoy our lives...Love and Peace to you, XO, Toni 2006/01/15 MADONNA !!!What a WONDERFUL treat to have my sister come and visit
with us and be part of this family that she is, well,....part of
anyway! Bill and I thoroughly enjoyed having her around and doing
things with her, showing her some of our favorite things and places,
and people too. We even had a little party in her honor, inviting
Jens, who will always be her brother-in-law, Sarah, who seems like she
should somehow be Donna's sister-in-law, Debbie, my very good friend
and all the children, (minus Ava who was in Virginia). We ate at our
favorite Thai restaurant, Lemon Grass, our favorite Chinese, and most
authentic (SO authentic, we had the owner just order for us!). That
restaurant is called China Road and we got to enjoy my friend Miki's
company there as well as at the Indian restaurant a few days earlier.
Miki, Madonna and I had great fun one day, just shopping and making
silly field trips. Madonna also had great quality time with the kids
and even got to see Lukas in a basketball game, visit Benjamin's class
and Klaire Ann even turned down after-school rollerskating to spend
every second possible with "Auntie Donna". She also got to hear Ian's new band practice, and I must say...this is the best band he has ever been in. That boy is so talented!!! But I digress..... My only complaint is that
there was not enough time to do everything, to see everyone....so, she
will just have to come back. I am very fortunate to have been raised
in such a loving family and to come into being an adult maintaining
those relationships with my 'sibs' as dear friends, that I love oh so
much. We miss you Donna...er..Madonna...come back soon, you forgot
part of your heart here. And you took some of our hearts with you. XO, Toni 2005/12/25 Christmas 0005Christmas is a wonderful time of year, and this year, we think we experienced our best Christmas Eve ever. We just hung out as a family all day and talked, played music, played games, got a surprise visit from Ava's friend Meghan who is in Navy bootcamp, and a surprise visit from SANTA!!!! Benjamin learned perhaps more than he wanted to about Santa this year and he is still processing it all. (like, he looks somewhat like our neighbor!!!) We actually did not think he was still a 'true believer' but we know now, he always will be a believer, in Santa, and all things wonderful. We made a differenct choice for church tonight, and we created our own Mass at home. Bill was our 'father', of course, but everyone read a little prayer and participated. That is what some of the pictures are of people standing and reading. Lukas read his story, 'Pencil Man'. Bill read readings from the booklet from our church and then we all broke and shared bread together. We all agreed it was a beautiful mass. Bill ended it by saying something beautifully true about each person there. Then there was a HUGE feast, that never seemed to end. Before we knew it...SANTA was here!!! Look at the picture of Benjamin clutching his heart as Santa walks in!!!! Priceless!!! Presents were few, but meaningful. Ava learned that money really can grow on trees, and Klaire Ann got a little digital camera...and some of her photos are posted, with KAMM under them. Our tribe of nine. That is what we call us, Bill, Toni, Jens, Sarah and children five. We love our tribe...we are a tribe of love, and we stand by each other and are for each other, and hold each other up. That is what made our Christmas so wonderful. Tomorrow the kids have more Christmas with Jens and with Sarah, and Bill and I rest.
XO, Toni 2005/12/12 Outlived Elvis!Last Saturday night found us celebrating my birthday (yet again) at Arad Evans with Chris and Kristie, mostly we took photos of ourselves, but I know my mom likes to see pics of me, so here they are! Also we had a lovely early dinner last night with Larry and Marguerite, and believe it or not, I was remiss in getting any decent photos! Then we came home and the children all decorated our Christmas tree. It was a wonderful wonderful week. Thank you all, for your part in making it special for me. XO, Toni 2005/12/04 Birthdays! So last night we went out to celebrate Brian's birthday, and also mine. Much fun was had by all!!! Thank you all so much for being our friends (we know it is not always easy) and for sharing your time with us.
XO Toni 2005/12/03 Time is slipping away...Well just the sheer expanse of time that has slipped by without an entry or more pictures, requires me to update. We certainly have not been bored, what with getting Ian ready for college, getting Ava through college, Lukas is now in basketball, and keeping his grades up. Klaire Ann has joined the choir at school, and her first concert is Dec. 13th, and Lukas' band concert is Dec. 14th. Benjamin is the least complicated of them all, yet keeps us on our toes! Thanksgiving here was awesome...our very 'special family' that consists of five children and four parents celebrated together. It is always a blessing when Jens and Sarah and Bill and I can all be together for the children. We know they love it, and I think we do too!!! This weekend is sure to bring some craziness as brother Brian is coming up for his birthday celebration...so watch for more updates!!!! I wish I was funnier. Sorry. XO, Toni |
